Nature’s constancy

The tulips from my birthday opened completely--still showing off their yellow-ness bringing riotous streams of warmth inside ignoring the winteriness outside. We are gaining about 2 minutes of light every day now. At this latitude we're spinning about 830 miles an hour round the earth's axis and moving about 66, 600 miles an hour in orbit around the sun, so don't tell me you never go anywhere. HA! That's what I told my 7th-grade students when I taught geography. When through the blank stares I glimpsed a fellow pilgrim, I knew it would be a good year.
