Early morning surprises

This morning the bright strange sky woke me at 6 am. I jumped out of bed and ran around taking pictures. I took this one for the pinky-orange of the sky contrasting with the green of the trees and the yellow and green of the grasses. I didn't realize until afterwards that there was a rainbow, and that the cool-season grasses are dying back so we can see the warm-season grasses now.

I didn't see the rainbow until later, nor did I see that the cool-season grasses are turning yellow, revealing the green of the warm-season grasses.

Discovery! Somebody living in the city would not have noticed any of this. What a bonus to waking in this part of the country!

And that sky was so orange. I tried to capture that color that same morning. My camera did not register the orange. I wonder if the humidity has something to do with it. Very strange. Another great shot.
