    So it’s not really disorganized if you can still find things on it! Besides, if you can catch glimpses of the surface of the actual desk, you’re not really that bad. It’s only when you are reduced to working out of your lap that you know you have a problem.

    I agree with Faith. My desk is a shambles, but I know where everything is, mostly. A year and a half ago, along with a new computer in my office, I got a new and enormous desk, which goes around a corner. It’s loaded with stuff. A couple of times a year I clean it off and find places for everything; this always feels great to have done, but maybe that’s because it’s always concurrent with having the time to clean it off.
